How traffic demand management can improve access, equity, and jobs in transit-oriented cities

A new World Bank blog highlights how a KGGTF-supported grant, Smart Travel Demand Management Policies for Developing Green and Sustainable Transportation: Deep Dive in LAC cities, is helping Bogotá design next-generation traffic demand management (TDM) policies that expand access to jobs while reducing congestion and emissions. Drawing on Korean expertise and global best practice, the grant supports data-driven analysis, institutional capacity building, and the design of congestion charging and smart enforcement systems—ensuring that road pricing reforms are equitable, effective, and reinvested into public transport. The experience underscores how KGGTF is helping cities link mobility, economic opportunity, and green growth.
