Grant Activities

Project Summary:

The grant aims to strengthen the service delivery capacity and climate resilience of UzSuvtaminot, Uzbekistan's national water and sanitation utility.

It supports the broader parent project goal of improving water supply and sanitation coverage, quality, and efficiency, while enhancing the sector's planning and regulatory capacity.

The grant has three activities:

  • To support the establishment of a Water Solution Training Center, modeled on the Korean K-Water academy, focused on water management, metering, and operational efficiency.
  • Fund internships for young Uzbek water sector professionals at Korean water utilities, providing hands-on leadership and operational training.
  • Promote private sector partnerships by facilitating networking between public utilities and private vendors to pilot green technologies such as smart metering and energy efficiency solutions.

 

This grant is aligned as follows:

  • With existing lending operation (WASIS – P162263) Component 1: Sector policy, regulations and institutions, Component 2: Energy efficiency financing facility and Component 4: Professionalization of participating water utilities.
