Digitization of Power Transmission and Distribution Operation in Kyrgyz Republic

Project Summary:

The grant supports the digital transformation of power grid operations in the Kyrgyz Republic, with the aim of increasing hydropower generation capacity and enabling greater renewable energy integration. It focuses on improving transmission system reliability, efficiency, and conditions for private sector participation through digitization.

It is organized around two activities:

• The larger component, Technical Assessment & Roadmap, funds a pre-feasibility study and implementation roadmap for scaling digitization technology across the national power network.
• The second component, Knowledge Transfer & Capacity Building, finances study tours to South Korea for 8–10 Kyrgyz experts and structured training for policy makers and network operators.
