Grant Activities

Project Summary:

This grant aims to develop a robust technical foundation for air quality interventions in Uzbekistan, with a focus on reducing PM2.5 and greenhouse gas emissions. It will do so by designing an expanded air quality monitoring and early warning system, developing an urban greening strategy for Tashkent, conducting pre-feasibility studies for cleaner industrial and agro-industrial production, and building local knowledge and institutional capacity.

The grant is allocated across four activities:

  • Designing and expanding the air quality monitoring system
  • Developing a conceptual urban greening and green belt plan for Tashkent
  • Conducting pre-feasibility assessments for cleaner production in key industrial sectors
  • Building a knowledge base and capacity for air quality improvement

 

This grant is aligned as follows:

  • Coordinated with ongoing “Yashil Makon” (Green Home), Green Cities programs of Uzbekistan and RESILAND Project (P174135) of the World Bank.
