Innovations in land valuation, taxation and land use planning to support land policy reforms and green growth transformation

Land issues in Uzbekistan are shaped by a complex mix of historical policies, and governance challenges. The country’s land remains largely state-owned, with leasebased agricultural and urban land use systems.

The KGGTF grant is supporting the government to identify and plan the most effective land management and urbanization reforms by undertaking comprehensive training and capacity-building programs. This initiative facilitated a critical policy dialogue between the Government of Uzbekistan and the World Bank, that provided institutional, analytical, and knowledge-sharing support to shape the country’s land governance policies.
