On November 21, First Vice Minister Lee Hyoung Il met with CABEI Executive President Gisela Sanchez at the Government Complex-Seoul, marking her first visit to Korea since taking office. President Sanchez highlighted CABEI’s recent governance reforms and its upgraded credit rating, while VM Lee welcomed her efforts to improve transparency and expressed hope for deeper bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides signed an amended agreement on the Korea-CABEI Technical Cooperation Trust Fund to boost its operational efficiency and support Korean companies’ entry into the Central American market. VM Lee also encouraged greater participation of Korean professionals at CABEI, with President Sanchez affirming the Bank’s commitment to hiring Korean talent.
