Mongolia’s power system faces significant challenges in its clean energy transition. This includes effectively supplying peak hour demand and ensuring grid flexibility to accommodate higher levels of variable renewable energy.
Mongolia’s coal consumption is projected to grow, making it essential to explore an effective strategy for the integration of renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, and electric mobility. With support from the KGGTF, this initiative laid the foundation for two pivotal reforms: supporting Mongolia in accelerating e-mobility adoption and advancing battery energy storage solutions.
