The KGGTF hosted the kickoff event for its second youth internship program on December 20, 2024 at the Seoul Global Center. The 6-month internship program is designed to give future leaders practical experience and knowledge to build a livable planet through lectures and site visits and work experience at The World Bank through the KGGTF.
The kickoff event and orientation included opening remarks by KGGTF Program Manager, Hyoung Gun Wang and congratulatory remarks by Kwangsun Ahn, Deputy Director of Korea's Ministry of Economy & Finance.
After the remarks, KGGTF members greeted the interns, followed by inspiring lectures from Senior Environmental Specialist Sameer Akbar and Senior Program Coordinator Jisun Kim from WBG Korea Office, and Principal Specialist Eunhee Roh (Seoul Urban Solutions Agency).
KGGTF's Career Talks and a lecture on green growth showcased pathways to create impactful, environmentally conscious careers and emphasized innovative strategies to address global challenges.
Interns also engaged in interactive icebreaking activities and a team-building workshop proposing ideas to improve cities and neighborhoods.
