Support to the Ulaanbaatar Flood Protection and Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Project Summary:

The grant aims to support the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar City (MUB) in developing and implementing projects to mitigate flood risks and improve sanitation services, which will contribute to resilient and sustainable urban development.

One of the persistent challenges for MUB has been its limited capacity to design and implement infrastructure for flood risk reduction. To address this barrier, the grant will engage with experts specializing in hydraulics, hydrology, economics, social impact, and environmental impact, who will provide technical assistance for project preparation, including feasibility studies – hydraulic modeling, and economic and financial analyses, and the preparation of environmental and social safeguards documents.
