Grant Activities
Project Summary:
This grant aims to empower youth and women agri-preneurs in targeted value chains by introducing climate-smart resilient technologies and innovative entrepreneurship skills.
Despite their key role in agriculture, women and youth often face limited access to climate-smart technologies, finance, small-scale irrigation, technical knowledge and skills, and market linkages. It hinders them not only from increasing economic opportunities, but also ensuring a stable food supply, as they tend to be directly related to food and nutrition security of the household.
The program will complement and enhance the ongoing framework of the Smallholder Commercialization and Agribusiness Development Project (SCADeP). By leveraging the existing structures, the project will scale up the adoption of climate-resilient farming practices among youth and women-owned producer organizations as well as SMEs.
