Korea Green Innovation Days (KGID) is a flagship knowledge-sharing event on Green Growth organized and funded by the World Bank Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF). Now in its 13th edition, KGID has a rich history of facilitating the exchange of practical examples and innovative approaches to achieving sustainable development.
Over twenty World Bank project teams, with representatives from client countries benefiting from KGGTF grants, will participate in this diverse gathering that highlights project impacts, real-life examples, and creative solutions from development practitioners, offering insights into innovative policies and technologies while fostering networking through pre-arranged bilateral meetings.
Below is a spotlight of one of the grant teams attending KGID Jeju 2024.

Grant name: Policy Support to Establish a Digital Agricultural Information System for Climate-Resilient Food Security in Honduras
Sector(s): Agriculture
Grant Year: Year 11 (2023)
TTL(s): Francisco Javier Bueso Ucles, Senior Agriculture Economist and Ena Shin, Agriculture Economist
Grant objective: The project primarily focuses on digital soil information using ground sensors and direct field measurements. Considering that accumulating a digital database is a basis for adopting smart farming, the project will serve as the first step for implementing and scaling up smart farming in Honduras. The project’s ultimate objective is to support INFOAGRO in developing an agricultural information system. The system will integrate diverse agriculture-related information, such as weather forecasting, soil conditions (maps, temperature, moisture saturation, erosion, etc.), basic crop health monitoring and production forecasting, water stress, disease, and pest management. Therefore, the Government of Honduras will be able to enhance agricultural productivity, optimize resource utilization, and build resilience to climate change in their agricultural sector.
Who are the intended beneficiaries?: The primary beneficiary will be the Government of Honduras and secondary and indirect beneficiaries will be other stakeholders in Honduras' agri-food system.

Are there any interesting stories, insights etc. that you would like to share about your grant thus far?
We conducted the first workshop in Honduras in August 2024, inviting nearly 30 participants from the agri-food sector in Honduras. The workshop focused on how to collect agrometeorological data, how to transform the data into information, and how to utilize this information to enhance productivity and increase resilience to climate change. The need for strengthening information systems to enhance food security in Honduras and the necessity for more policy support were discussed.
Further insights will be shared and discussed during KGID.
