Newly approved (year 11) KGGTF grant, "Egypt Climate Smart Agriculture Innovation and Tech-based Entrepreneurship (EgCITE)" was recently endorsed and formally announced at COP28 by Martien Van Nieuwkoop, Agriculture and Food Global Director, World Bank, where he was joined by Her Excellency Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation (MOIC) of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Van Nieuwkoop noted that the KGGTF grant will support the green growth path in Egypt through local solutions focused on climate-smart technology and a recent Egyptian national news article (here) highlighted Minister Al-Mashat as remarking on the importance of the collaboration with KGGTF, noting that key parts of sustainable economic development and green growth are closely related to building sustainable infrastructure and efficient use of resources, which the partnership will achieve.
